Partners usually serve long term overseas for a minimum of 2 or 3 years, either as supported workers or as tentmakers who are fully or partially supported.
We welcome basically anyone with skills or profession – who can be deployed to serve in the 10/40 Window countries. Example of such skills are nurses, secretaries, social workers, doctors, dentists, IT consultants, accountants, agriculturalists, engineers, business people, technicians, those with TESOL training, those with theological training, youth workers, etc. On top of that, they should have a clear calling from God in their lives and a strong commitment to the Christian faith to be ‘salt’ and ‘light’ wherever they may be.
Short-term Service (On Track)
There are also opportunities for those who wish to serve short term in the field for a period of 3 to 12 months, under a programme called On-Track. This programme is ideal for those who wish to explore full-time missions in the longer term or simply just to experience or get a feel of what it is like to be doing missions, as well as those who are doing medical electives.
Are you called to serve the nations?
We cater for people with a variety of professions and skills. Most of our long-term partners are self-financed. However, we also have partners who are tentmakers and doing Business As Mission. We also have short-term services.
Why go with Interserve?
Interserve Malaysia will make sure that you are well taken care of before, during and after your field work. We provide guidance from finding appropriate job opportunities, to financial matters, to schooling for your children, to security in the field. We have a member care team who will provide support, encouragement, prayer and pastoral care. We work together with your sending church to ensure your well-being.
In the field, there is a community of Interserve Partners who will come alongside you. You do not need to feel that you are alone in the field. They will provide care and guidance when you are overseas.

Potential candidates must have a love for Christ and a definite calling to serve Him. They must also have a love and a heart for people. The processes to explore the suitability of a candidate before deployment to the field would include:
- Filling in an application form.
- Interview and character references.
- Medical and psychological assessments.
- Local church support and recommendations
- Looking into funding requirements.
Interserve Malaysia will provide member care (prayer, support, encouragement, and pastoral care), disseminate prayer requests, arrange for home assignment, and liaise with local churches to update on the Partners’ work on the field.
Interested candidates can apply to Personnel Director at “firstname.lastname@example.org”.
